Comments

This amusing story was written by Silverberg to match the cover art by Ed Emshwiller. This was something he did on occasion, as the artists for pulp s-f magazines would sometimes come up with an idea not attached to an already-written story. After a brief look at the art, it was off to figure out how a spaceship ended up embedded in ice. Not only does the story fit the situation perfectly, but it's pretty entertaining as a story of its era.
