This story was written to go with Ed Emshwiller's cover art. It's the amusing story of the first real Miss Universe pageant. Silverberg makes the sensible decision to limit the contestants to humans, since it's impossible to translate standards of beauty across species, but that doesn't mean that everything will go well for the winner, who is clearly a perfect specimen of female Homo sapiens.
